The seven questions
- Does the facility hold a medical examination and treatment operating licence, what is its number, and where can it be checked
- Does the person performing the procedure hold a practising certificate, and what scope of practice does it state
- In which room is this procedure performed, and does it match the approved technical classification
- What is the anaesthesia plan, and who administers it
- If a complication occurs, where is it managed, and which hospital is the facility affiliated with
- Does the quoted cost include follow-up visits and complication management
- What is the realistic recovery time, and when can normal work resume
Why the fifth question matters most
Complications are a genuine risk of any intervention, even when technique is correct. What distinguishes a safe facility is not a promise of no complications, but a clear plan for managing them.
How to verify a licence yourself
Provincial Departments of Health operate public registries of licensed medical facilities. In Hanoi, a public lookup portal allows checking a facility's name and approved scope of practice.
